Description

We are looking for individuals to join our Press Department team at the Columbia, MO lab. This position would be responsible for operating the Press Printers and Cutters as well as performing other functions relevant to your area.

Qualification Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to read work orders and customer's specific instructions and preferences.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, and detailed prints, and specifications.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the lab.
  • Ability to memorize the names of printer parts

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:.

  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to retain the information of previous setting when working with multiple images.
  • Ability to identify source of printer errors and diagnose the problem.
  • Ability to read status light on printer to know if machine is in the process of printing or needs maintenance.
  • Must know the basic error types on prints such as seed pattern and image drag.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to operate a computer terminal typing and 10-key touch entry.
  • Ability to inspect, examine and observe for obvious product or equipment defects, and for defects not easily identified.
  • Ability to determine malfunctioning of units by observing instruments, determine the location and nature of the malfunction and perform the necessary repair and maintenance or notify the appropriate personnel for assistance.
  • Ability to make adjustments to obtain the specified results by turning and setting controls.
  • Requires directing and coordinating work activities with others.
  • Ability to work rapidly for long periods of time and under time pressures.
  • Requires working with a minimal amount of supervision.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time.

  • Requires a self-motivated individual that can work alone and in a noisy environment.
  • Requires planning own work activities.
  • Must be able to work in a team-member concept.
  • Ability to recognize minute variations in color and density.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Required to use hands for fine manipulations; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend/stoop, squat, kneel and push/pull. Occasionally required to sit.
  • Required to see identify the color of status lights on the printers.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing between 5 & 20 pounds. On rare occasion may be required to lift and/or mover up to 40 pounds.
  • Must have accurate vision and depth perception for close range work.
  • Color recognition and consistency is required.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination and finger dexterity.
